The word Kintsugi translates as “golden joinery.” It's a method of repairing broken ceramics with a lacquer mixed with gold, silver or platinum. The aim is not to hide the repairs, but to make them a feature—to incorporate them into a design often more beautiful and unique than the original. Kintsugi asks us to embrace our flaws and brokenness and accept them as a part of our story. Let’s face it, life's challenges can break us. We can choose to remain broken or we can mend, heal, become stronger and even more appealing.
